WSM and the Dealer

Good Day All,
A small note on WSM's. After several tries to find and dowload the WSM for my BX25D and seeing countless scams etc. etc.
I hope this enlightens a few of us.
Went to the Stealer with my $100.00 plus in hand to buy a WSM.
Sales dude sees me comes out to say hello asks why im there.
I tell him he says "got a jump drive" alas they are at home.
Five minutes later I have a jump drive with my WSM on it no charge.
He then thanked me for doing a couple minor repairs under warranty.
Perhaps a little more faith in some dealers is due here.

Dealers in Canada and other parts of the World will do that, I've yet to hear of a US dealer doing it.

Aparrently most canadians are friendly and polite. For that i'm sorry.
Great you got it for free, when ever i had issue with tractor at former job, dealer would fax portions of manual and parts book pages. I was slowly building a wsm and parts book.

Good to hear. I dont suggest trying to download on line. I ran into two scams doing that. I got my money back and went to the dealer and bought a hard copy. Very handy to have it in shop when i need it.

There are all sorts of scams for the manuals. I ran into a bunch of them when I was looking for manuals for mine. That's why we have the links in the ultimate sticky for the free or cheap known good sites

There are copyright issues (which I have not read the legal writing of) in effect...so be careful.

I believe in the manuals, they state "not for redistribution" or something along those lines. Yamaha got wind of some dealers just making copies of their PDF's from YDS (Yamaha dealer system) and found the guilty parties, fined them heavily and removed their dealer contract from said dealers.

That's why a lot of US dealers won't redistribute.
