300 hr service went smoothly, but a few interesting notes. Maybe someone can shed light on why wood chips were in my hydraulic line close to and inside filter. I used needle nose to remove from end of line and shop vac to attempt to suck any remaining debris.

front axel gear oul was also done, ans filling took 1/2 of what was called for. Less than a gallon total. I had it running out if the vent plug. I will check again after running an hour and see if more will go in.

Wood chips? Filler cap/breather cap missing? Used tractor and seller was 'tightening things up with wood chips?

Both vents on each bevel opened? I neglected to open both and was puzzled why it took less until i re-read the manual.

Wood chips: Tractor came from a dealership, new. Chips were found in the filter itself and line coming into filter. Otherwise fluid looked very good.
Front axel oil: yes, needs both vents open. I had filler and leveler nuts open, but not vents. Topped off 🙏🏽👍🏽

I've seen a hyd pump disassembled and mech said their were wood chips in it. This system was a tank with the pump, valve and fluid in the tank that split in half to get to components. After thoroughly cleaning he decided what he though was pieces of wood was actually hardened sealer. Just a thought.

Some chainsawing near the back of the tractor where the fill opening is, with the cap left off?

Someone put something in the Hydraulic oil.
Do you have devious / curious kids?
Do you have unhappy employees?
Do you have a pissed off wife, ex or girlfriend?
Do you have a angry neighbor?
Do you brush hog and leave the cap off the hydraulic sump?
