Test the coolant to make sure it's mixed right, or change it since it's a used tractor. You'll want some #1 diesel in it by the time it gets really cold. Check block heater and snow removal equipment for function.

Most of it is common sense. Since you're up north, guessing you have experience with other equipment in cold weather.

I would suggest getting at least an Operator's Manual, and also a Workshop Manual.

If you don't know the machine's service history, I would also suggest changing out fluids, filters, etc. so, you know the condition of the stuff before snow flies.

Best wishes, and welcome to OTT! :)

Teulon. Been there. Not far from here.
Considering how cold our winter is, may want to check condition of your battery also. I use a magnetic pan heater when i cant keep it in the warm place.

Im really hoping winter doesnt show its ugly face for a while yet. Not near ready.

BTW,welcome to the forum. You will find a wealth of information here.
