One thing they share - they are relatively rare and trouble free. So if you do have a problem, the probability of finding a competent dealer mechanic to repair it is not great.
i gathered as much from a video I saw yesterday. I wonder why they didn't catch on, or were they discontinued for some other reason? Too bad - looks like the type of trans I'd like best.

Would think anything without electronics on a tractor would be better.

They weren't discontinued, they're still available in the L3560, L4060, L4760, and L5060. I think a new 70 series is about to be released, I don't know if GST will be available.

It's only been available on the L models - L2550 is the smallest and earliest I see listed, starting in 1985 and GST may not have been available on the earliest years.

I put a 5' bushhog on my L35 about a week ago. Usually we use a Ford 3930 (conventional manual transmission) with a 6' cutter, but I had a lot of maneuvering to do, due to ice storm damage, and having the synchronized gears and shuttle shift sure was handy. Add one to your collection.

I tend to agree, but newer equipment is going to have electronics somewhere. Besides, the hydraulic circuit (below) on the GST isn't exactly a cake walk. Keep that fluid clean.
