Yep, that's what we do.
Mowed about 12 acres for a neighbor and about 14 for myself at my place in Utopia a couple of weeks ago.

In Alaska, we had to sit in front of a large, high powered light to make up for the many hours of darkness we got.
It would be dark when we went to work and the same when we came home and since I worked in an underground building, I wouldn't see any daylight until my day off and then it would only be a few hours each day.
