What Tractors Share L2501 running gear?

I think I read in a thread here somewhere that the L2501 has the same mechanical components as some larger HP brothers. Without the emissions BS.

Is this correct? If so, anybody know which tractors they may be?

All the standard L's are the same frame and hydraulics... like, L3901, L3301, L3800, l3400 etc...

I'm not certain but some of the MX models could share that frame as well

I was wondering if the L 2501 shared the mechanical components of the slightly larger tractors in the series. I know the engine is detuned, and read somewhere the same as used in some other Kabota tractors, but I don’t know which ones.

There’s a possibility in the future I may end up buying an L2501 as a third tractor (a want, not a need). I was going to buy wheel spacers for my B 2910. One concern is stress on the rear axle assembly when the wheels are widened. I’m not sure if this is a valid concern or not, but in theory it seems reasonable.

Now I’m thinking I will hold off on wheel spacers until I decide on the L 2501. The root reason for my question was thinking that if the L 2501 had the same mechanical driveline as the larger tractors, then it would be more robust than the B 2910, and probably wheel spacers on the 2501 would be less detrimental.

And perhaps the driveline could end doing less mechanical work, which might be an advantage...

From looking at the spec sheets and tractors on the lot when I was in the purchasing phase of buying a L2501 I think the L2501 , L3301 and the L3901 come closest to being the same frame , front and rear axles etc. There is a very slight difference in 3 pt lift capacity, hydraulic pressure etc. They use the same loader.
Wheelbase is the same, weights are nearly the same but just a tad heavier for the 3301 and 3901. This is only a guess but I would assume thats due to the extra emission and related components and possibly the weight of the larger displacement engines. .

I think the L2501, L3301 and L3901 are very similar, if not identical, excluding engines. That is just a guess though. But, I say that because if you watch maintenance videos of all models of these tractors, everything is the same. I did my 50 hour maintenance the other day and watched a how-to video of a guy doing the maintenance on a L3901. The only difference was his two engine oil drain plugs are on the sides of the oil pan and the L2501 has them on the bottom since they are different engines. I am sure there are many differences, but I would think they are essentially the same machine with different engines.

One point to consider with the L2501 - When running the rims for ag tires the rims can be set to three different widths with no spacers.

Good to know, but if I were to buy an L2501 I am pretty sure I would go with the R14 tires.

I think this chart, posted by eserv in another thread, is what gave me the idea that the L2501 might have the same drive train as a couple bigger brothers.

Note the L3301 and L3901 use the same wheels as the L2501 ( at least as far as P.C.D, number/size of bolts, and diameter of pilot) and have the same gear ratio front/rear.
