Hey everyone, I have a question on what size land plane to get? I called my local dealer today and he said he has 2 2024 models in stock he'd cut me a really good deal on, 1 is a 1560 60" and 1 is the 1572 72" my question is what would be the approite sized land plane for the l2502? This tractor is brand new to me and has only a few hours on it and intend to make it last a very long time... I dont wanna overload it but have no issues using it as intended... what is the correct size land plane that will match this tractor? My property is pretty flat and will be using this for driveway maintenance/rebuilding as well as reworking uneven spots in my yard. Any input is helpful... thanks in advance!

Mine is a GS1572, and I have a L2501HST. It works fine, and I'm not on flat ground. Sure, sometimes I have to slow down or use L. It's advantageous to just do one pass up and one back, so consider that.

The Land Pride Kubota matched implements suggests their GS1560 or GS1572.

Nice, this is kinda what is was looking for... im getting ridiculed from my neighbor buddy for not going after a box blade first, but feel this will be better since im still learning how to use my tractor! He's adamant it won't work as good as id like with a limestone driveway but my skill level might not be the best for a boxblade so I've been playing a back and forth game for a couple weeks now!

A couple of ways to look at these. Get the GS1572 and maybe have to baby it a bit. Get the GS1560 and go to work.
Another recommendation, get your rear tires filled if you have not already.

Lots of people figure bigger is better, that is not always the case.

Good luck with your decision. :)

I do have filled tires luckily, I ran out to the shop and measured rear tire width, and lug to lug on rear tires was around 61 1/2" not sure if it'll contact the ground on the outside but makes me think the sales guys recommendation on the 72 was maybe the correct one... I just dont wanna buy an attachment that'll constantly overload my kubota, figure it might be the right one for me though

Well, I've maintained my driveway and the community road both gravel (about 1 1/2 miles) with mine for a few years. I did have to replace the skids which bolt on, and you have to watch the plow bolts. They do loosen up.

I decided on the Grader/Scraper after watching how a land plane works compared to a box blade on YouTube. For simplification, with a grader/scraper, you lower it and drive.

A box blade requires more finess. No doubt both can do what the other won't do as well.

Do you use the scarifiers at all? It's not much of a challenge pulling a grading scraper over gravel, but if the scarifiers are digging in then it might be a different story.

I pull an 84" EA land leveler behind the MX and M and would have liked to have a 96" model but I think I got the biggest one that EA offered at the time. It's a heavy beast and does a great job but a wider swatch would be a plus.

I only use them on the road to break up potholes. So that's usually just one or two down, and I go side to side for as many passes as it takes. Of course, that's just a few feet, backup, move over and go again.

My driver that delivered my tractor, etc said that I shouldn't have to use them hardly ever. He's been right.

get the 60 incher and rock n roll with it. Each tool has its place and the land plane is one of them that will do your gravel drive a good turn

Sounds like your neighbor has a box blade. Just get the land plane and I’ll bet he’ll want to borrow it. You can borrow his box blade in return. Each has its place.
