I am a new member on this forum, hopefully someone can help. I have a GI B1600 tractor which is in pretty good shape, just 660 hours. I have just bought a log splitter with a ten ton ram. I was assured the tractor hydraulics would power it OK, but it is hopeless, and won't even push through the smallest log.

Clearly something is wrong. Any ideas as to how to make a start with diagnosing the problem? I will check the pressure (I'm guessing it should be 1500-1800 PSI) and flow rate (??). Are there any idiot fixes before I get too excited?

I would think the pressure should be around 2200 - 2500 psi. Just guessing on the flow rate but I bet it's less than 5 gpm.
