WAY ot Does Taurus own Colt?

Not that anyone in here would ever think of handling let alone owning a GUN,, I have this question
I was at a gun show today and looking for clips for my PT1911 and I asked the man with all the clips if a COLT clip would work,, he said hell yeah Colt makes them for Taurus,,,,I kinda looked at him and he said yeah Taurus bought Colt out a couple of years ago... I never heard this before and couldnt find anything on the net about if its true or not,, anybody ever heard any such thing???
