I have a kubota l1500 that developed a mixing of water and oil problem so I naturally assumed it was the head gasket and set about a complete head gasket renewal, all went well so I replaced the oil filter, filled it with oil, lovely. Then I started to fill the radiator and noticed it was taking a lot more than it should so I removed the dipstick and water poured out. Now as the l1500 has no water pump I am at a loss as to where water and oil can be mixing. can anyone help me?

Don’t think so. That appears it would leak coolant externally. Having said that, it does not appear to be seated properly.

From Rocky’s thread it appears there might be a similar freeze plug beneath the front engine cover (???)

Update
Came away very easily to reveal the problem.
Just one bit of advice, take the governor off first as there are 2 small springs in there that need to be unhooked before removing the front.
