I'm looking to purchase a 500 lbs 3pt hitch spreader. I see a lot of them around the $500 price range. The VS 220 is $1,800. I'm all about spending money on quality, but is VS 220 really worth the extra money? Any thoughts????

I have the $500 variety, works fine for fertilizer, way too unsophisticated tolerances for seed. You often get what you pay for. Believe mine has 500 lb capacity.

Whatever you use make sure you rinse it and the tractor afterwards. I've gotten by with a 100lb'er and my ATV. It works fine on grass seed too as long as you're willing to over seed.
