I practically went straight to the cause of a hydraulics problem that started Sunday morning. I owe it to reading this forum. The main purpose of this post is to thank all of you that regularly post replies to people’s problems.
My hydraulics started making noise and groaning. Loader and lift moved slow. Power steering was jerky. Just from reading OTT I immediately knew some things it wasn’t.
It did not take long to find a bad spot on the back side of the hose going to the hydraulic pump. It was sucking air. I went to the auto parts store and selected a formed hose hanging from a rack. It looked like part of it would fit. I had to cut off part of both ends. I had to make a little bit of bend in one area. It had just a slight crimp to it but I tried something I hadn’t done before. I put one of the old hose clamps around the crimp and tightened it to the diameter of the hose. It took out the crimp.
I’m telling you, no kidding. I would not have figured the leak out that fast being new to tractors. So when you guys are geniusing out on how to fix things, I’m tucking it away.
Thanks all of you that continually help others. You’re a great group!
