I just came in from plowing with the back blade. We have about 15" of snow here. While trying to get through a 3' drift going up the driveway I noticed a small 'red stain' in the snow. I did an inspection and couldn't find any leak. Kept going, watching for any red but didn't see any more. However when I stopped I noticed 2 or 3 drops in the snow . . . It was under the rear of the engine but I couldn't see anything wet under the frame. I'll have to get under it when I get it in the garage.
So the question is - The sight glass was / is full (I recently added red dye). It may have been overfilled. Is it possible the oil heated up and expanded to the vent ??? The machine was being worked hard.

Just got through plowing. No more bleeding :)
easy to see in the snow if there was. Still going to get the tractor up in the air some after it dries off in the garage. Will do a complete under carriage lookie.

I had some drips too after 50 hour service, never could track them down other than where they were at the very bottom of underside. Turns out the tech overfilled the hydraulics which I could see on the dipstick but never really put the two things together. After dropping BH (literally!) and losing a little and the dipstick settled at the full mark - no more drips.

My guess is your overfilling did it but keep us posted.

Yes some fluid can burp out of the vent when worked hard.

That must have been it. I crawled around under the tractor and could find any sign of a leak. Likewise the garage floor shows no drips (thank you Woodland Mills for that monster cardboard box the WC68 came in).

It was hard work on the machine. I was using the back blade up and down the driveway that has a significant elevation change and is far from straight. I don't know what I would have done if the blade didn't have an offset. Managed to burn thru most of a tank of fuel.

Today just did some cleanup as we had another inch overnight but it was just above freezing. Now its down to the gravel and no signs of any red stuff :)
