There are a bunch of small diesel motors running turbochargers, and most of them have opted for Smart Car turbo chargers. Key is finding the right size turbo, and realizing that a turbo will only provide additional power under certain high load conditions.
Mounting a turbo is no problem, making sure there is more fuel to compensate for the boost is a tough part, as is finding a high pressure oil line for cooling and lubricating the turbo.
