Transmission/Hydraulic Problem B6100D

I've recently encountered a problem with my old b6100D. I have a finishing mower on it and suddenly the hydraulics slowly lower. It takes about 45 seconds for it to reach the bottom. I replaced the fluid about 4 years ago and it still looks clean. The level is good as well. I've never had a problem before. I was going to drain the system and clean the filter and refill but before I spend the money and time I thought I'd ask the community what they thought.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

I know the bolt you speak of, I have not touched it at all, is it possible it vibrated loose?

Basically I raise the three point hitch, than it slowly lowers back down to the ground, even though I'm not lowering it. Basically it does not stay up when I want it to.

Sorry if I wasn't very clear.

If you still think that bolt needs adjusting I can do that, I just never touched it before.

Thanks, that looks like the problem. I assume I can get the parts at my local Kubota dealer? If I read the posts right I'm going to:

1) Get the orings
2) Drain the transmission fluid and clean the filter - reinstall filter
3) Remove the piston by opening it up, pumping the 3 pt hitch and using a strong magnet
4) Install new orings, lube orings with fluid than replace piston
5) Reassemble and refill transmission fluid

Did I miss any steps? I'm in Canada, what fluid do you recommend I use? The tractor say 80 weight gear oil. The manual says Shell Donax TD/TM, Mobil fluid 350, exxon torque fluid 56 or kubota UDT hydro tranny oil.

I do not have a hydro transmission on mine though. Is it safe to assume I will not damage my machine by using it in it's current state? I don't think I'll have the time to replace the orings until the fall in all likely hood.

Thanks for all the help!

Sounds like a plan- mine also had two o-rings to seal the cover. My B7100DT gear tranny uses Kubota rated UDT, so i can't confirm those fluid choices. Perhaps one of the guys with more than my meager experience will chime in.

Hey, my 200th post!:D
