My BX2380 has the 50 hours and I was doing the scheduled maintenance. The Kubota dealer told me to only change the transmission filter at this time. I changed the filter and lost what fluid that was in the old filter (minimal) but that put the fluid OFF the dip stick. The existing fluid is crystal clear... I was going to top off from a friends transmission fluid Kubota UDT2. That borrowed fluid seems a little amber color? Are these two oils compatible and should I use it? Is there just a clear transmission I should buy for it?

No suction strainer service?
I did not see that in the 50 hour check list. Does it need that at 50 hours? Ok I see that... That will require a complete trans fluid change? Thank you for the info..

I see from the operators manual it actually calls for cleaning the strainer and changing the transmission fluid.

If you decide to keep the fluid you should have no issue topping off with Super UDT 2 as that is the recommended fluid.

Over servicing can never be a bad idea. I think it's important to do the full recommended tasks at 50 hours.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your servicing.

It would appear so.

My strainer was relatively clean at 50 hrs but I've seen pics on here of heavily occluded strainers featuring blue RTV sealant.

That's because blue RTV is good, and if blue RTV is good, more blue RTV must be better, right?

Right.

Some folks don't understand the concept of a "thin film".

Somebody around here used a shop vac attached to the filler/dipstick port. When you pull the strainer switch on the vac.

I just let the fluid run out. It's at the bottom of the sump so you lose it all.

Not on a Kubota. Unless it was worked on sometime by a non Kubota tech. Kubota ONLY uses 3 Bond sealant / gasket maker and it's grey, not blue.
