How do you fasten your B2601 to your trailer with chain binders particularly in the back?

Thanks,
That is why you use 4 chains and binders!! One on each corner!

I bought tow hooks for the front, they actually bolted to the existing holes as you see in the pics below. When my tractor goes out, I usually have 4-8 stops each outing, so quick unloading and loading are a priority for me. I always strap with redundancy, so I use a minimum of 4 straps, 2 in the front and 2 in the rear. Prior to these straps I was using straps shortened for each corner, but that still wasn't as ideal.

In March of 2025 I picked up a new trailer and these straps. They are always this neat, whether tightened and securing the load, or stowed away, no more dealing with the extra strap ends.

Can you please provide a link for those straps?

The other day I trailered my tractor to my friend’s house five miles away. I used three straps, one over through the clevis on the drawbar, one in the middle over the backhoe frame, and one over the frame at the front where the brush guard mounts.

I will NEVER do that again.

Around a turn, the machine slid across the icy trailer deck. Thank god it didn’t slide right off.

From now on, I’ll be using four separate ties to each corner.

yeesh, did you change your pants !!! curious, why not put grapple horns under the front rail ?
Nope. I had no idea it happened until I was unstrapping it. But boy did I feel foolish.

As to why I didn’t put the grapple “horns” (good word) under the rail, well, I didn’t think of that is the honest answer. I hadn’t used this trailer before and wasn’t sure about the balance, so I went a little forward and a little back a couple times to try to get a good tongue weight. Thanks for the good idea for next time!

Yes I understand that now. I wish I had read that post before trailering.

What I did was, albeit inadvertent, extremely dangerous. Only luck saved me from hurting someone. I shared the post in hopes of helping other novices like myself.

You can use two chains and four binders. That's how I typically secure the tractors when hauling. I run each end of the chain through a separate D-ring at the front and rear of the tractors. It's equivalent to four chains and four binders. My point is that that you don't need four chains if you're running chains.

In a perfect world I would have the binders at the front of the tractor connected to a D-ring on the trailer that is closer to the rear of the trailer. If I were concerned about the load moving fore and aft I'd be sure to figure something out. That's what I did when I hauled the M1078 about 200 miles to Idaho last year.

That's called a shackle by the way, not sure why but 90 % of people call shackles a clevis. A screw pin shackle to be picky. Crane operator here FWIW.

So far the only use for my draw bar on my 3301 is for securing the rear when I transport, I use 5 screw type binders as I have to drive down a mountain and it's just how my tie downs in my dump trailer are oriented.
You may be right, but when I go to my industrial supply dealer, they are all labelled as clevis's on the shelf, LOL
