Am I the only one with factory step issues? The step on my mx is cheap factory steel and is sagging in the center. Has anyone had the same issues? I’ve looked at the after market steps and are nice but has anyone improved the factory step?

Mine is ok, but I have a L2501HST. It should be easy enough to weld reinforcement though to stop the sag.

Shouldn’ t be too difficult to weld or bolt a reinforcement to the step.

I have the exact same "gravitational pull" issue.

I am either too fat, or the factory steps are too thin?

I will eventually either reinforce it, or just make a new "big boy" version.

I am leaning towards making one out of stainless.

It looks like the only problem is the paint was too thin. ;)

Looks like it has bumped a couple of times. Where I worked the 980 Cats lost their steps rather quickly so the company went to flexible cable steps. Other than losing some paint the issue of damage was gone. step.jpg Don't know if this would help or not.
