I was looking to get a waterproofed cover for my tractor. It is an L295DT. I did a google search and nothing came up for a full sized tractor. What have you all done to waterproof your tractor?, short of a barn. There must be someone who has done this, right?

A guy near my place in the mountains covers his small Yanmar with a golf cart cover, but he doesn't have a FEL or backhoe.

What works great for me to cover my tractor is I took a drop in bed liner and flip it upside down and use that to cover the tractor with. It's worked the best for me because its a heavy duty plastic, its never blown off or been torn nor does it rip. Easy to clean the snow off of it in the winter time and best of all its FREE. I got several of bed liners from a local shop who installs the spray in liners and takes out all the old drop in ones.

Good idea, Eric. Down in Haiti, they use pickups for taxi's- they are called tap-taps. The owner builds a cage for the back, and then fastens an upside-down bedliner on top, making a cheap roof. They can get 20, 30, or more people in the back of a pickup. It is a rough way to travel...

You do not want to trap moisture inside the cover or could get some unpleasant unintended consequences. Most heavy equipment sits outside every day of its life without any damage aside from paint fading. A breathable cover would keep the sun out but allow for normal evaporation, etc. Maybe build it its own little house?

With the bed liners upside down theres no moisture at all on the tractors. The tractor in the link is my dads and he feels the need to wrap a blanket around his tractor to tuck in it at night and keep it warm with a block heater.

I'm leaning toward one of those cheap canvas car port/awning things for about $150. Not too expensive, should last a couple of years, and by then maybe I'll be able to do better, or quit caring. A big plus is if I put it on concrete, the attachments will probably fare better and be easier to handle...

I put up a shelter last year. Great unit. It's been out in some pretty nasty weather but it haven't budged. The tractor is always dry and out of the sun. My tractor sits most of the year because it's only used for snow clearing. Hoping to put up a new steel building next spring.
