Buy, trying to figure proper length.... Thanks! You looking to buy? Or set to a length?
Tractor supply and many AG supplies have them $25 or less if looking to buy - make sure you get cat 1
The length will be variable depending on what you are doing -Buy, trying to figure proper length.... Thanks!
Maybe I'm not explaining it right, there has to be a OEM collapsed length, it than can be adjusted out for what ever proper length for a particular piece of equipment. So if the collapsed length is to short it might not work with the equipment that you using, same if to longThe length will be variable depending on what you are doing -

Russ, thank you, I will go out and measure the one I just purchased. I thought it might be too long but maybe not.Mine appears to have a minimum length of just over 20". It's currently adjusted to around 21.5 or just under, and I rarely (pretty much never?) have to go very far from that, and don't recall ever bottoming it out. That's pin center-line to center-line.
That makes good sense but I just spent 1400.00 on new tires and wheelsDepending on one's financial status, it is pretty easy to buy two top links that cover a wide range of measurements. Problem solved.
I'd say there are at least 8 to 10 top links in my barn in various stages of repair, condition, and modification.
There is even one that has a CAT2 ball on one end and CAT1 on the other as OEM. Haven't seen one before or since.
That said, a hydraulic top link, like on my M7040, is not so economical to stock up on different sizes!
