So it was -7 F here yesterday morning. The old M4500 wasn't too keen on wanting to start (unheated shed, no block heater), but it did. Heated the plugs for about 2 mins but got barely a glow from the indicator, only wanted to hit on one or two holes. Noticed this fall that on cool mornings it wasn't starting as well after the normal cool day 15 second pre-heat. I suppose after 20 years it deserves a set of glow plugs. I see that I can order NGK 6525's for $5 a piece at NAPA, $30 is a small price to pay when its frigid out and a round bale needs moved or the drive graded. Never changed them in one of these K engines before... any problems with the threads sticking or hanging up that anybody knows of? (I know this is a rare engine for the forum, but thought someone might know, don't want to run into something like a Ford Triton spark plug problem)

Last time I replaced my glow plugs, the indicator was also going bad. I would replace the glow plug indicator also.

No experience with your engine.

I have not ever heard of any special problems with GP replacements for that motor.
Same as the rest if it's too tight and seized soak in penetrating oil.
