8 ft landscape timbers fit into the FEL braces and act as forks for lifting light loads. I've moved deer stands.
Anyone else do this?

I have not, but you got my attention when you mentioned deer stands…I use regular forks….but always looking for options. Got any pics of you set up?

I don't have a pic with the timbers but they go over the top of the bucket when it's angled down and under the horizontal pipe brace just behind the bucket. It's wobbly but I've done it a few times since I don't have actual forks.

Sounds like an accident waiting to happen! A landscaping timber falling from a lifted height onto my face doesn't sound like a very appealing day,

I once used 2x 8ft 4x4 posts, held over the forks of a forklift i once owned with 1 large c-clamp each, and used this to lift a ~10x10ft deck to attach to a mobile home. I did do some work underneath it extending the legs to make it self-supporting again, but even had it fallen it would still have stopped with 2+ft of room underneath. It was sketchy but not much worse than many other methods i could imagine.

I don't have a pic of that but i DO have a pic of loading that deck onto a trailer with my B8200. Had to have my dad run the machine because the loader would not actually lift the deck in this arrangement unless he pulled the hydraulics and I manually added human lift power at the far end! We did get it high enough to load onto a trailer in one piece. My forklift (since traded for a huge pile of other things) took it off at the other end of that trip.

While I have no room so speak, it also looks like your dad added a bit of extra ballast to offset the weight of the deck...

Hard to argue with success...(y)

Yes. 700.00 for REAL forks (not the vise grip bucket attached ones) is cheaper than a hood, headlights, face reconstruction, or a funeral.
