I am looking at buying a Landpride RTR1266 Reverse Tine Tiller. Before I Buy I wish to acess how well Reverse Tine Tillers work in cover crops? Do Reverse Tine Tillers work in cover crops any better than Forward Tine Tillers? My soil is sandy loam river bottom with virtually no rocks. It is low on organics though so I need to work in cover crops.

Any experience involving working in cover crops with reverse rotating tillers would help me in my decision making.

I had one long time ago for my little Bolans tractor,, if your useing say winter wheat or a heavy rye it will take a few passes to work that stuff in cause as you know they have a pretty good root system,, what we did was drop the tiller down about an inch below the soil and make a pass then drop it down a littte more untill it was full depth. You will find that if your tines are not sharp or they are worn the stuff will ball up around the shafts and tines and you spend some time cutting the stuff so you can get your depth once your down a bit everythgin will chop up and you ll have a good bed for buckwheat, or what your going to use in your food plot,,, Hope this helps
