Read the reviews... doesn't quite fit. Do you have a welder and a torch? Mod that one...make your own or buy BXpanded...I have the Kubota one and it was ridiculously overpriced...for the $500 I was expecting a hydraulic cylinder and when it came back from the dealer with the pin and slot crap I was astounded...

I got mine off eBay looks like the Kubota and only took a little grinding to get it to fit.
Merlinhomeauto, how much was your ebay one, I'm thinking I will probably just get the Bxpanded factory mount one for easy removal if I need.

I don't understand the percentage of a 'Thumb' on a small backhoe in the first place. On a full size excavator like a Komatsu maybe but on a homeowner sized machine I cannot see it. Looks like a waste of money to me.

The thumb makes it easier to scoop up things like a downed tree trunk. It's possible without the thumb, but takes a lot more skill.

I agree a thumb is not that useful on a small machine. I am able pick up most logs and stumps with the curling action of the bucket. You can only move something so far. There are no rocks where I live.

What I do is get the object of interest in a good position then pick it up with the loader. Without a grapple it's a tricky operation but the toothbar helps.

If I'm clearing trees, the bucket is usually full of limbs, limbs piled up across the loader bars, and I use the backhoe to pick up the trunk before heading to the burn pile. I could just use the loader, but hey, the backhoe is there, might as well use it. Scooping a large trunk takes a little time and practice. It would be much easier with a thumb. I will probably fab one up this spring.

Same here, I had my property logged and I am stuck with a large clean up so the more I can move at once the better.
