I recently replaced the broken throttle cable on my GF 1800 mower. How do I adjust the speed of the motor, it runs too fast, it has no tack to check engine speed. I usually go by the sound of the mower, but DW uses her "ear buds/tunes" and runs it wide open, way to fast. How do you use a tack to adjust the speed on a diesel. Thanks, Dan

Hi, Hokie, The book says I have 18 HP @ 3200 RPM's, is that at "wide-open" max throttle? So when I get this tack, put sticker on flywheel, set WOT at 3200 rpm's, should be good to go, correct??? Then my honey can go to her hearts content !!!!!

If you haven't changed the bump stops for the throttle (screws with jam nuts on the rocker at the injection pump) Then it should already be set from the factory. You may have had a catch on the old throttle cable, so now your getting the full range of motion, so it seems faster then it actually is. :)
