Hey The_Old_Man welcome to OTT.

It looks amazingly nice BUT:

First - you've got a 23+ year old mower with 212 hours on it, that's roughly 9 - 10 hrs. per year, how is that possible. It would be a potential "Red Flag" for me if i were looking to buy it. Did it sit in a barn unused for a number of years ( potentially dry rotted tires, seals, hoses, maybe condensate in the tank, etc. could be future problems even though it runs great now).

There's been a few similar questions to yours lately, how much is it worth. Most of the answers have been - it depends. Go on Facebook, Craig's List, etc. to see what others are selling for in your area. No matter how nice it is if you price it too high compared to what's available in your market it won't sell.

Thank you for the unput. I don’t know the history of the unit. I bought it this summer when i thought I was getting a larger piece of property. That fell though so now I need to sell it since it’s a bit of an over kill for my 0.5 acre lot, lol. It was not running and looked a lot different, very dirty.

I agree on the pricing comment, hence the post. I have been watching locally but nothing close to this has come on to the market in the last couple of months. There are a couple of dealers online that have the gas version, same as this, but they have them price extremely high, in my opinion, mid to upper $2000’s range. Obviously as a private seller I can’t sell any where close to the price a dealer would ask.

It definitely sat for a while. The metal elbow at the top of the fuel pick-up tube was completely rusted shut, the fuel line would collapse under the suction of the fuel pump when trying to draw fuel and the brake was so rusted it didn't’’t operate at all. I worked on cleaning, polishing and buffing it for several hours to get the stains out of the paint. I replaced the fuel lines, including the fuel pick-up tube all the way to the fuel pump. Replaced the fuel pump and made sure the carburetor was good and clean. Then I went through the entire tractor and deck to make sure it was function properly from a mechanical stand point. Including changing the oil, sharpening the blades and greasing the unit. I do this whenever i purchase a used price of equipment.

To the hours comment, i assumed the hour meter didn’t work when I got it since it was so low. However, when I used it various times to test it out the hours went up accordingly. That’s not to say the meter couldn’t have been replaced at some point. There isn’t any checking in the tires or cracks in the coolant line and no cracking or brittleness in the other rubber parts. Which I was surprised so see.

I’m just looking for a rough estimate on price. I want it to be fair for both parties, but don’t want to sit on it for months.

Don't be too concerned about the comments about low hours means troubles. Ive had a TG1860 gas with 550 hours. Have a TG1860 diesel in my barn with about the same hours. I haven't started that machine in 4 years. That's how they get old and low hours.

It might be difficult to find something local to compare prices with, but the ones North Idaho Wolfman listed can be your guide. Consider what the big box store riders sell for. What you have is a water cooled engine of different quality. I'd list it on CL Market Place for 2K. It might be worth a bit more, but the mowing season is coming to an end. Good luck.

What did you pay, how much did youput into it? What do you need to get out to be happy? Seems around $2K-$3K is the going rate. More if someone likes the buff job you did on the paint, less if someone looks closely underneath. :)
