T2080 issue

I have a T2080 with a 42" mowing deck. Two days ago it kept stalling whenever I would move the lever to activate the mower.

Then yesterday when I moved the lever the blades did not turn and it made a high pitch metal on metal grinding sound. I have had belts break in the past and this is definitely something more than that.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks,

Deck bearing seized?

I found the issue.

I am not sure of the proper names of parts but the PTO belt had slipped off the pulley that is tightened when the PTO lever is moved. So when the lever was moved the PTO pulley moved into contact with the engine drive pulley. That is what made the metal sound.

When I put the belt back in place it holds the two pulleys apart when the PTO is activated and of course works the mower again. Thanks,
