Hello;
I just bought a used 1997 Kubota T1460 lawn tractor. It has the 12.5 HP single cylinder pressure lubricated vertical shaft engine (think Kawasaki might have made it for Kubota?). It smokes a good bit on start up and then stops completely after a couple of minutes of running and is fine during use. My question is how does one adjust the valves on this engine and what are the specifications for the intake and exhaust valve clearances? Any photos or procedure approach would be greatly appreciated as well. I am thinking a valve adjust might help the situation? Thanks!

.

I know this is an old thread, but just in case somebody else does a search for this type of info, the intake valve lash should be set at .004 and the exhaust at .006.
