I’m sure this subject has been brought up before but please take it easy on a new guy. I’m a union crane and heavy equipment operator by trade and yes as a professional operator I can operate using both control patterns but I simply prefer Cat over JD as that’s what 99% of all machines I have run in the last century have.

The simple question is how do you switch it?

I worked in road construction for 34 years I don’t think I ever came across an operator who was equally comfortable running both. That’s some talent you have there. I wonder if they make them like all the “newer” model hoes with the switch to flip from one to the other

Unfortunately they do not. My dealer said it can’t be done but I refuse to believe that when it really can’t be more than switching a few hoses. Even if I have to get longer hoses in order to accommodate extra length it still comes down to changing where the fluid gets directed to the right place.

Of course it can be done...
all you need are some new hoses and of course new stickers to say what the levers do !
I've run both in the past and after 5-10 minutes, 'memory muscles' take over, like driving automatics vs stikshift cars..
