I have a svl95 and I am having a fuel pump calibration issue. I tried calibrating it but nothing is happening. Upon further instruction we are getting a fuel temp issue where it is reading 5volts which is with disconnected or not there causing it to sh a temperature of -40 deg Celsius.

In order to calibrate the fuel pump certain per another’s have to be met.

coolant temp
Rpm
Fuel temp

all are in range as shown in pictures except the fuel temp.

I have been told this machine does not have a fuel temp sensor and I have not been able to find one.

I would like to know if there is a sensor in this engine that is dual purpose or maybe the texa tool we used to scan and calibrate is incorrect for this version of v3800 engine.

also if anyone has a working svl95 can they scan their machine and let me know if they are getting a fuel temperature reading.

I'd think the WSM would have information like the location of the sensor and a wiring diagram.
perhaps your version has a 'dummy sensor' in some connector to make the computer happy ?

What's crazy to me is NEEDING that as I can't see it making any real difference in the overall operation of the machine.

I guessing but if the engine is a Tier IV motor with electronic controls it may require fuel temperature for metering fuel since the fuel density is proportional to the fuel temperature. If they are using metering as a function of mass flow of fuel then one has to know the fuel temperature since injectors are volumetric devices and the total energy supplied to a given cylinder determined by a time increment that the fuel nozzle is open as well as the mass of fuel injected. the controls need to know the fuel density to relate the fuel volume to the fuel mass and the fuel density is a function of fuel temperature. That's my guess anyway.
Emission controls on working machinery is causing a lot of reliability issues and you can thank the EPA for that.
