Hello. I’m new here. I introduced myself a couple of weeks ago. I have a L3130 GST with a front end loader. The “lift & lower” piston of the Husco control unit is stuck. I believe it is a Husco 9210-B3 F (photo below).
I studied several existing threads concerning a stuck lift & lower piston by Butch, logan and BEARHUNTER (http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1327&highlight=husco+9210 ) (http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1295&highlight=husco+9210) (http://www.orangetractortalks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1388&highlight=husco+9210) .
They are all very helpful, especially Butch’s description of the dis-assembley/re-assembley in the last mentioned thread of 3-19-2010.
The 3-point hitch works great. The "curl" action works fine. The plastic hydraulic vent cap near the level indicator is not plugged. I use only Kubota hydraulic oil. I recently replaced the linkage from the Husco piston to the control lever. The original link broke, which I wonder is related to the problem. The bucket had been acting very “jerky” for quite some time. With the new link installed (bright orange in the below photo) the bucket worked for about an hour, then froze up. From the threads already concerning the Husco, I think I am at the point where I need to remove the unit, get it on the bench and take it apart.
I checked the Husco link on the internet with the parts diagram, etc.. I understand they do not sell parts direct on–line.
My questions are:
Am I on the right track so far?
Can I purchase a rebuild kit, “O” rings, etc.. for the unit? If so, can I get one on-line or do I have to go through my dealer?
What causes this piston to freeze up? Rust, dirt? Can I expect to take the unit apart, clean it up and it will work? I will, of course, replace any “O” rings, gaskets, etc. if I can get them.
I know many other owners of similar models that have not had any trouble with this control unit. Do some of them just wear out?
Please help!

I would try to take the cap off the under side and see if you have a rust problem first. My brother had a kubota that sat outside (under a tarp) and he had trouble with his husco valve several times. My loader has one on it and I have never had any trouble at all. It's going on 11 years old now but has always been parked under a shed.

Bottom line, Husco valves don't like moisture. If your sits out at all then cleaning and lubricating the bottom side of the valve should be part of your PM program.
