I have a B7800 HST with a stuck clutch. Can anybody tell me the best way to release the clutch plate when it’s stuck?

First, Hold down (tie down) the clutch pedal and work the tractor hard, including a PTO load,
If that doesn't work then your typically looking at a split.

Have you checked the clutch pedal linkage and make sure it's in adjustment?

Okay, ill give that a try… saw that the clutch linkage seems to work okay.

Another method which (I have heard) might work: Place it in 4th gear… Rev the engine at high-speed…push the clutch pedal IN….and Apply the brake HARD! It may “pop” free.

The cause of this problem most likely is the clutch is rusted to the pressure-plate. (Presuming the clutch linkage is properly adjusted.)

Good luck…. Don’t forget to Come Back and Tell us if it Worked…!

If you don't have a plow and ground you can sink it into, if you have a loader on the front you may be able to push against a tree and get the clutch to free up. Keep the loader low and don't slam into the tree, just push against it.

Just wondering how long one might run the tractor with the clutch pedal tied down, without risking damage to the throw out bearing, since it normally experiences limited use, and is probably not designed for continuous use.

Well….. If it DOES damage the throw-out bearing…. That’ll give good opportunity to fix the original problem! :ROFLMAO:
