Stiff PTO position selector

It seems that every time I put the B2601's PTO position selector in front position that it is stiff to move. Have to piddle with turning PTO off and on and wiggle it a bit to get it to move to both and rear selections.

Anyone else experience this and know the solution?

have you tried to grease the linkage? I had a similar problem on a B7100 4wd lever - little oil helped a great deal.

normal, the solution is to keep using it and not to force it.

My B2650 still resists pto position selection regularly, even after 800 tractor hours, though it's way better than when it was new.
What I do if it resists shifting too much, is run the engine at idle. With any implement attached to the pto, if any, FULLY in mind, slowly move the pto engage lever forward JUST until the pto shaft begins to turn. Then disengage the pto lever fully as you try and shift the Mid-Both-Rear lever.
A small rotation of the pto releases whatever tension in internals that binds up the shifting.
Like my pickup steering wheel when it's been locked under tension from the front end, I sometimes can't turn the ignition key until I take the torque off the steering wheel that's binding the internals.

I'm not sure if you mean it's hard to move the lever or if your having a hard time getting the gears to line up so that it shifts into the different pto configurations . Sometimes I can't get mine to move either but what I do is shut off the tractor. With the tractor shut off turn the PTO shaft just a bit by hand and move the pto lever to the where you want. It works very well. Again tractor is shut off .
