recently purchased an older l2850 4x4. Runs perfect everything works as should, well maybe. The steering is my concern.

when moving the steering is easy. Steer it with a couple fingers. Sitting still (parked) on concrete driveway, you can not steer it. As soon As it moves steering is easy. Is this normal? I’m new to tractors and have no idea if this is normal or not. Thanks

You mean the tires will not turn when not moving, right?

Never noticed that with either of my Kubota tractors.

Not familiar with your tractor model though. Maybe someone who is will respond...

Yea you can’t turn the tires either direction. Might could if you used both hands.

Sounds like the manual steering on an old truck I drove. Does your tractor have hydraulic assisted steering, fully hydraulic steering, or manual steering?

Do you have 4x4 engaged while attempting this? If so try it in 2wd.

Important question. Without “power steering” difficult turning when stopped might not be abnormal.

Manual steering is such a distant memory I completely forgot it was once the norm!
