Hello! First time poster, been following threads here though for a while now as a non registered user. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I have a L4330 GST & it has developed a very firm steer at low rpm’s ( 1400 & below) . The odd thing is when you put it into neutral it goes back to normal steering. Once I apply forward or reverse it becomes very firm, pretty much not steerable. If I accelerate to 2000 rpm or above, it feels pretty much normal, sometimes it has a slight hiccup if I steer back and forth repeatedly. Tractor has always been serviced at the appropriate times, fluids, filters etc. the PTO, 3 point, & bucket all work great and have no issues at all.
If someone can point me in the right direction on where to start looking to figure out this issue I’d greatly appreciate it. I’ve talked to dealers and they are no help at all.

Could be one of three things, Blow seals on the steering cylinder, bad steering controller, or bad pressure regulator.
How is it shifting?
Jack or lift with the loader both front tires off the ground how does the steering feel then?

Thanks for the reply! I’ve lifted it and tried it at the same time with it in forward but clutch disengaged (pedal down) and it acts up, stiff & hard to turn. With it in neutral it is fine. As for the gears, they shift fine and don’t seem to have any issue shifting.

Are you saying with the shifter in neutral it steers fine, But in gear it steers hard?

Cab or no cab?
I want to make sure I get the right WSM to look at what's going on.

Matches everything you got going on in a nutshell.
If you need more info Just let me know.
Thanks for the information! Man that’s a bummer to hear but I’m glad you found that. So here’s another question, I removed the filter and found what looked like broken spring and something else? Could this have came from that?

This is a WILD educated guess, but those parts looks like a GST clutch spring and a piece of the GST clutch.

If you have a photo of the full blow up of that diagram I could use to see what all is involved that would be greatly appreciated. I’d like to see how to get to that clutch pack.

Check you PM's top right.
The blow up of the parts would just make it more confusing. ;)
