I have a BX23D (2005) in need of steering cylinder rebuild. Purchased rebuild kit K2561-16600 but come to find out that the Ring wiper seal (K2561-16550) is to big for my end cap. Has anyone else come across this issue? Dealer is ordering me a new kit in the mean time to see if seal is any different. Only other difference I see is that the original has orange rubber and the new one has black rubber. I don't hold to much stock in the color but that is all I see.

We're twins, RJM, along with q280z...we have BX23s. Good little machine. And, I had to replace the steering cylinder, too. Hope you get the repair completed. Pardon the thread drift. :)

I'm sorry I don't know the anwer to your question, but be careful about dismissing the color. It often indicates the material of the seal, and that can make a big difference.

So I ended figuring out that Kubota went with a redesign of the steering cylinder and the rebuild kits match the new style. I ended purchasing a whole new cylinder for times sake. I did however find the following like which looked like the proper rebuild kit for my older model:
The local cylinder rebuild shop quoted me $300.00 to rebuild the old one and the new one cost $240 if I wasn't going to do the job myself. "Look (wife) save us $60" LOL
