Sometimes when I turn the key to start I just get a click. I may get several before the starter kicks in. Should I replace the the switch at the key or is there something at the starter to fix this issue.

I'd check out the battery connections and cables first. Sounds more like a possible grounding issue more than likely involving the cables.

Ron gave you some good advice but, make sure you do both ends of both cables. If that doesn't do it check, or have checked , your battery for a load test. Batts fail in the heat as they do in the cold too. Let us know how it goes.
