After I removed my PTO shafts, later I found a spring type ring that does not appear to fit anywhere and wondering if it came from my 7100D PTO’s or from a previous project. Does anyone recognize this and know where it goes?

thanks in advance. WB
It is the garter spring out of the output shaft seal.

re: the garter spring

interesting term, must be a 'south of the 49th' saying......;)
saw a guy add 2 orings onto a PTO shaft before installing the PTO shaft seal. He said it helped keep oil from 'weeping' out between the new seal and the worn shaft

Almost every oil seal has a garter spring on it.
