I know I use my little BX for more than cutting grass and do get someplaces I probbly shouldnt, but hey thats part of the fun right? Anway I was reading about the skidplate he built for the M7040 skid plate, and I was wondering if any one has built one for the BX. I crawled under and figured it cant be too hard but came out scratching my head. I dont figure it would be real hard btu I am drawing a blank cause everything I thought of would block something get inthe way of something or just be a PIA to construct and install.. SOOOOOOOOOO does any one have one or built one of even thought about it??

I just welded 3 nuts on each side of the frame - 6 total.

Then cut a piece of expanded metal to fit. It uses bolts with large fender washers through the welded-on nuts.

Near the rear, where the filter is, the expanded metal was bent to cover the filter. The bend looks like a flattened Z since it has to go down and back to cover the transmission.

Built one for my bx2230 from rusty left over sheet metal. just used a band saw and hammer to bend to shape. I did not make it to cover the filter, mainly to protect the fan from sticks. I can use my mmm with it on the tractor. Theres a plate , small support, that goes from side to side. I used that to bolt the front of it to. Can't remember what I bolted the back edge to.

Well, when you make it, you think about things you need access to, and what you need to protect, then start mocking it up with cardboard or eyeball some steel pieces.
