Took solenoid stop off laid to side, then turned the key on. Solenoid stop plunger didn't move. Left solenoid stop off started tractor and fired right up. Went to parts store purchased new solenoid stop. Plugged wire into new solenoid. Turned key on and new solenoid plunger didn't move. Unplugged new solenoid. Took hacksaw and cut off old solenoid plunger. Put old solenoid back on tractor. Turned key and tractor fired up and running. Killed engine with manual lever below solenoid. Turned key on again tractor fired right up and did about 1.5 hours of work with tractor worked great. Parked tractor, got out and pushed manual shutoff below solenoid. Let tractor set a few minutes and tried to start again. Wouldn't start just made trickling noises. Suggestions? Thanks

Did you ground the case of the solenoid when you took it off?
Won't work without a ground.
Also some versions of the stop solenoid need 2 signals to operate, simply turning the key to on will not pull the coil in.
You need to crank the engine to pull the coil in and leave the key on to supply the hold coil with power.
There will be mutiple fuses controlling the stop solenoid.

Now as far as your other issue, very unlikely related.
Sounds like a battery issue or possibly a safety switch issue.
Check all the battery connections on both sides.
Check the operation of all safety switches (PTO, Seat, shuttle or clutch pedal) are not engaged.
