Hi all ~

Looking to get a snowblower for my L2550 GST.
The rear tires have a 5 foot stance. Should I go with a 6 foot blower (to allow a little clearance on each side of the wheel)?
It a 29.5 horse. Is that big enough to run a 6 ft blower?
I can switch between 540 and 1000 on the pto. Is it best to keep it in 540 to run the blower? Could running at 1000 do any damage?

Sorry for all the questions. Using this tractor is all new to me.

Thanks,
Spanky

Kubota dealer told me 540 is best, he said if you use common sense 3 to 4 inches of light snow you could use the higher pto rating. I am not sure with the smaller blowers if the gear box would take it to many times though. I have read that when you get into bigger tractors 60 hp plus, if you have a blower you can get one with a gear box to run the higher pto 960 or what ever it may be.

My buddy tried his blower on the higher rpm rating, made some scary noises, but,MAN! Did it chuck snow!
Like 50' high and 100' away. I want something that could do it without issue.

I would prefer a slightly wider path at least I wouldn't be packing the snow I'm trying to move. Helps when getting close to buildings, fences and stuff like that there.

Your tractor can not handle a 72" blower it will bog you down and will be extremely slow if able to move at all! The HP draw of that big of a blower is great 25-60HP.
I know what your going to say, but I have 29.5HP, yes motor HP but they are based on PTO HP and your tractor is only 23.5HP at the PTO.
Stick with a 60" to 62" max for that tractor. ;)

So, I have found what seems to be a good deal on a snowblower and it happens to be a Kubota blower at that. It is a B2782 rear mount 3ph 60 inch blower.

My question: are these built for B series tractors, or is it a standard 3 point that will fit onto my L2550?

Thanks for the help!

Its a standard 3 point cat 1, so yes it will work on your L.
Interesting part is that is also a front mount blower too.
and it's a 63" blower. ;)
