I presently have a BX5455HD snowblower, and it doesn't fit my BX23S. I am considering converting it to a BX2822 snowblower, which is the newer equivalent for the 80 Series tractors. I have downloaded all the parts pages for both snowblowers, and for the most part, all of the mechanical parts are the same except for the drive system. I will need to purchase the heavy-duty 4-point hitch for the cost of $318, and I have all the rest of the parts that make up that hitch from another purchase of a scrap snowblower that I bought from a fellow forums member a few years ago. His BX2750 snowblower was rusted out, and he found a used BX2816 snowblower on Craigslist. He took off the mounting parts from his snowblower and removed the mounting parts from the BX2816 and installed his original snowblower parts. I got the rusted-out snowblower along with the removed parts from the BX2816. In essence, I will be doing the same thing that he did. Before I buy the one expensive part do you see any reason not to go down this rabbit hole?

Yes, the BX5455HD is a front-mount snowblower with a "tongue" type of mount, and I am considering making it a K-connect mount.

The only thing that I can see that might make a difference is if the side plates on the snowblower that the hitch parts bolt to are different lengths between the newer and older blowers. That would throw off the driveline fitting properly making the driveshaft too long or too short.
