Gravel stones in the receiver portion (snowblower side) of the quick hitch will cause this to happen. Also, not having the locking lever in the "unlocked" position prior to trying to mount the blower will have a similar effect.

HINT - also look UNDER the tongue of the tractor side of the quick hitch to see if something is hanging down, preventing engagement. I can't say I've worked with the L-series quick hitch but the B-series quick hitch has a roll pin in the locking lever which could cause a problem if it were not fully in place (think assembly error).

If all brand new, clean the paint off, look for weld splatter.

Once clean put a little anti-sieze on it.

Like others said before:
- Make certain the inside of the blower side of hitch is clean without obstructions.
- Use your favorite grease to reduce friction

The only time I had trouble getting the lock lever to engage was when there was ice/snow build up inside the female part of the hitch (snowblower side). It wasn't much, but it caused 30 minutes of frustration trying to figure out why they wouldn't go together. It had snowed while the blower was off and when I went to put it back on I must have pushed a small amount of snow inside. Only found the problem by using a bright flashlight and looking inside.

Even if the quick hitch height is wrong (There are three holes for the main pivot point and the lift mechanism has several also to account for all the different L-series frame heights) it should go on part way. The blower can be lifted, pushed on the remaining way and locked in place.

With no obstructions I can typically pull the last 1/2" of engagement using the locking mechanism.

If I remember correctly the snowblower portion of the hitch can be removed fairly easily from the bottom. It could then be hand fitted to the tractor side to better judge what's going on. (Would not be wrestling with all the blower weight).

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Does the OP care to report on what the root cause of the engagement issues and how it was corrected?

Brand new to the program here and I have a question regarding the L2180-1 frame and your 2195 snow blower. I just purchased a L4330 (mid PTO) with 1100 hours. I was told that the original blower mate in 2007 for the L4330 tractor was the L2185 front mount snow blower. I found a 2195 blower and and 2180-1 frame but this came off a L6060 tractor. Am I to assume (dangerous) the sub frame would fit properly on the L4330 tractor but the length of the pto shaft may have be shortened/lengthed because it came of the L6060? Too new to this adventure to purchase and find out I can not mate the frame/blower on the L4330. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The L2180 will fit your tractor as it can be adjusted to fit all Grand L30's, L40's and it looks like the L60's. While the QA/subframe will fit, the driveline changes between the different length tractors. Generally all that is needed is a change to the driveshaft from the mid PTO to the QA/subframe.

I had to reconfigure the L2180 to fit my L3130 as it came off a larger tractor and then I reconfigured it again to fit the L4740-3.

The L2180 and L2180-1 are very similar. The only difference I'm aware of is the addition of two smaller mounting pins near middle of tractor. I converted my older L2180 to L2180-1 configuration with a wholegoods kit to do so.

Make certain you get the tractor side mounting brackets for the two smaller mounting pins off the L6060.

You'll also need the tractor side mounting bracket for the front that takes the two large diameter pins.

Your dealer should be able to provide the correct drive shaft if needed.

Good luck with the purchase.

Thanks so much. I also received a message back from Kubota:
Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to Kubota's Customer Satisfaction. I've attached the operator's manual for the L2195 snow blower. I've also verified that the L2180 and L2180-1 are compatible with the L4330 tractor, the subframe for these two products is L2188.

We have logged your comments in the event that future review is necessary.

Regards,

Valerie S.

My Speeco QH system only hooks up to two thirds of my implements. I had to modify the Speeco to get it to work with more implements. My observation is implements don't all use the same "standard".
