Snow plow for BX1880

Have a couple day’s experience on my new 1880 that has exceeded my expectations. Am already researching my 1st attachment for next winter. Snowplow. Would love a snow blower but out of my price for the new future. Want to be able to disconnect my bucket and hook right in a snowplow. prefer to leave the loader on. This one in the link is the only one I have found in the setup I want. Kind of a steep price. If anyone knows of a less expensive setup, please let me know.

I just did a google for "snow plow SSQA", that's the bits that looked useful from the first page of results.

It does look like people are saying pretty much any snow plow you can weld an SSQA plate to. The plates are cheap - e.g. this for $249: https://www.kapteynequipment.com/product-page/ssqa-plate
That then opens you up to any second hand plow of the right size, if you're handy enough to cut and weld the plate.

'less expensive setup' ? depends on how handy you are,good at recycling ,think 'outside the box'?
4 summers ago a built a 'self powered SSQA snowblower ' for my BX23S. Literally bolted 2, 24" walkbehind snowblower housings yogether, chained the chutes to a gear motor, then powered the units with a 14HP 'offshore' engine'. The total out of pocket cash was less than $500. Since it's 'self powered', easy sway from it to bucket to forks....
Similar idea would be a 40" snowblower auger like a BERCOMAC unit, or look at ATV snowblower setups.
Options, always look at options...

You're in Minnesota. I dunno......I am in NB,Canada......two different conditions for snow, but I understand it snows a lot in MN. If you've never plowed snow I think you're in for an awakening.
Note--we're still getting snow here. Might only be 3" tomorrow, but it'll happen.

Maybe if you have a perfectly level concrete or asphalt parking lot you could do it, but how is an 1880 gonna cope with a 2' (or more) of heavy/wet snowfall? Maybe snow is always "dry" in MN? Don't know...never been there.

Your 1880 has a little less grunt than my 2380 and I wouldn't dream of plowing snow with it, unless I lived somewhere they only get snow a few times a year, like the Carolinas, Victoria BC or whatever.

I am sure it's doable, but from 45yrs snowblowing here in NB (not Minnesota)_I'd never want to try it as my only method of snow removal. I think it'll be a real battle once you get those deep heavy wet snows.(assuming you get them in MN)

For a decade I watched my neighbour with a smaller driveway than me, struggle with his 45-55hp International Tractor (2WD, filled tires, chains and gargantuan rear ballast) and a front bucket cleanup snow while I was using a big 45" 13hp, dualies, walk behind, snowblower do my long driveway and then be inside sipping coffee when he was still out there wrestling with hundreds of pounds of wet snow on his bucket for another 30-40minutes. Last few yrs I've been doing the same job in less time with a BX2830 blower.

p.s.-look up Biffs Equipment on youtube. He made a box blade (is that the right name? A big ol' box for his FEL which pushes snow....box pusher?) for his SSQA and plows with it.

Thanks for the replies. Not a welder but do know some folks who do so that’s an option. Have plowed snow for 30 years plus. Used to use a side by side for years without any issue pushing 10 inches of snow. Usually don’t get more than 6 inches at a time except this year was a bit more. This year was a rare year for real heavy snow. Don’t think I’ll have an issue with a plow. Again, thanks for all the replies. Good info to consider.
