The stock skids on the Kubota blower have trouble with gravel roads and self destructed. I upgraded to an ARMORskids set which is much more heavy duty, 2 feet long, and much thicker steel. Should be much less likely to sink in.

Gravel is extremely aggressive abrasive, and the new skids will last longer, however, I wouldn't expect it to alleviate the problem.

Gravel always wins at some point. However, when floating the blower, it will tend to sink less into stuff and hopefully bridge over the small divots. We'll see.

Get a 12" section of 4" wide plastic decking, and warm it in the oven (make sure that the wife is away from home). Once it is warm enough grab one end of it and lift to create a ramp. Let it cool and the ramp will be fixed in place. Bolt that to your new skids and you will resolve the gravel problem of wearing out the skids. You can get some carriage bolts to bolt it to the new skids. You need a wider footprint to keep the snowblower from sinking in.

Those look pretty "beefy" for sure.

I think they will work pretty good.

I am considering making set for my trucks plow that are similar in design, but right now the projects are piling up faster than my days off.

Besides; Isn't that why I bought a Box Blade? ;)
