And anyone else that might have experience with winter shooting. Anyone have any ideas on how to yell "pull" without having your view obscured by your breath?

I have to assume you wear glasses when you shoot, if so there are several lens cleaners that will keep your lenses from fogging up. And if you are not and your breath if blocking your view hold your breath when you call, really it only takes about 3/10 of a second. Or tell the trapper you will nod your head. Or you might try a ski mask that might help to prevent the cloud
Myself I shoot from the ready and I aint real good but it seems to me that I can see respond and shoot like it would be on a game bird.
And if its that chilly out.. well my old Winchester says what are you nuts? :D

When I hunt (winter) but no 'pull' needed. All bottleneck cartridges as in 300 Win Mag, 308 and 450 Bushmaster (straight wall).,

Don't even own a scattergun.

Use this too.... 460 XVR Smith......:)

I do wear glasses but they aren't fogging up. It's the cloud coming out of my yap. The nights I have trouble with are actually pretty nice out. A little cold with no wind. If there's a little breeze, it blows the breath away and it isn't a problem other than making the birds dance. There's a couple little old ladies that shoot in our league and don't complain about the cold much. Just sayin...

Flip,
How you doing, you cranky old fart?
