Thought I ran out of fuel. I Filled the tank with fresh diesel, turned the ignition on to run the fuel pump to bleed any air. Still ran rough. I loosened the large bolt above the fuel filter in the engine area, turned on fuel pump until a solid stream of fuel was squirting out.
This BX has two new fuel filters installed 20hrs. ago, and a new air filter.
What is going on? My knowledge is limited and I'm up the creek. Any suggestions are welcomed! This is a BX2230, has 1963 hrs

could be 'junk' in the tank.
? when you replaced the 'tank' filter , did the diesel pour out of the tank ?
? is it ALL fresh fuel ?
The tractor ran well after the initial fuel filter install and the fuel line had to be clamped to keep fuel from leaking out, there was no blockage and tractor ran well before today

I looked at parts to see the style of tank... you might have something lodged in the exit spigot ??
happened to my BX23S @+-200 hrs. sliver of plastic lodged in the spigot. Removed tank ,remove the sliver, been fine for 1500+ hrs. Also added 'coffee filter' to neck of fuel tank.

Start the tractor and crack each of the fuel lines at the injectors and see what it does.
Report back on what it does or does not do.

Slightly crack each injector line individually, - when fuel comes out steadily, tighten it back down, and crack the next injector - repeat.

I started to crack each injector fuel line after starting. The shaking of engine was so rough it was hard to get a wrench on the bolt. Lots of blue smoke, so much I had to move the tractor outside shed so I could breathe. In fact it was better than yesterday under its engine power moving tractor. That gave me hope.
I continued each line. Difficult to tell what was squirt and what was with air. But they were all done
eventually wearing down the battery. Is it possible to flood?
I am now attaching my truck battery to try and start it up. How long after starting will the shaking calm down?

As I was removing air filter I found this loose wire? Looking at white connection, the blk goes to the stop selinoid, the other wht wires come from a coil of wires. I'm guessinfg the loose blk and red wire goes in empty slot which is attached to nothing. It just holds it

It really sounding like you have contaminated fuel.
stick your nose in the tank, does it smell like gasoline?
And to do the test you need to crack the injector lines while it's running.

Possible wire location?
And if it is then someone has altered the factory wiring.

I barely got this to turn over, very rough, the blue smoke has dissipated but the rough barking and knocking is there....seems to be worse and does not settle down. What's next? Got any ideas Wolfman?

Yes, this is where I reattached the wire...The fuel was straight from the pump. Oh my...
I'm wondering if this is ethanol free gas I pumped?...Feel like a dumb shit, but not the first time to feel that way. I can siphone the gas out of tank but what do I do with the gas??

Wolfman is the guy to listen to. No doubt he will tell you to drain ALL the fuel. Buy another gas can if you must. Use the old fuel to burn brush pile. This is cheap if you get your tractor working

Yep drain it all out, change the fuel filter, crack all the lines that feed the injection pump and crack all the lines at the injectors to bleed the fuel out of the injection pump.
Turn the key on to run the electric fuel pump then, crank it in short inervals to get the old fuel out and new fuel in.
Tighten all the fittings and fire it up, don't fret if it's not running right at first just let it run at an idle for a few min to get all the old fuel out.

Use the contaminated fuel like @airbiscuit said.
If you don't do burn piles, put it in an open container with screen over the top and keep it outside out of the rain and snow and let it evaporate.

Thanks for your suggestions about the old fuel. Yeah, burn pile seems right. Also I was thinkin just about the same way. This will come tomorrow after I get over the fuel dump...at least I'm not the first.

After you get the fuel out, take a small sample and see if you can light in on fire easily. That will tell you if it is gas or not.

I'm in a new predicament. My tractor is outside on large gravel and earth with the mmm attached. I'm unable to reach the filters to replace. Can I run this tractor with a fuel hose going into a receptacle filled with diesel? If I can run it I can get the tracor into the shed where I can take off the mmm.
