As the title says. Setting there idling it puffs air out the duck bill. It runs fine. Just curious. I have read that Donaldson says there air cleaners due pulse to clear dust from the precleaner. Does this sound right.

Donaldson is talking about super large industrial applications where the filter assembly is many times the size of your entire tractor.

Sounds more like a tight intake valve clearance.

Hard to imagine in a recreational vehicle engine, power/energy use is being designed to clean pre filter. The engine, if indeed it was puffing to discharge dirt, would immediately suck the same dirt back as the engine continued to run.

You are correct. That is the purpose of the rubber flapper (duckbill). It expells the dust and then closes. Everything is working normal.
