Ok I have an rtv1000 with a d1150 engine this thing has now cratered 3 mechanical fuel pumps. 600 hr on machine. Factory original Kubota , a Kubota replacement and a China special. I am done. Going to put an electric lift pump. What pressure should I shot for and what’s the best circuit to wire it into.

2 to 5 pounds would be plenty of pressure and there are several unused wire ends for accessories that are powered with the key switch on. Make sure you plumb around the mechanical lift pump. If you try pushing fuel thru it, it will rupture the diaphragm and dump fuel into the engine oil.

IDK what the prob. is w/ these Kubota supply pumps but I've replaced 100's of them..
Very poor quality IMO..
Mr. Gasket 12D is decent.. & yes, plumb AROUND the mechanical pump.

On some of the Kubota tractors (similar HP) that use an electric lift pump, I've used these with good success.

Example: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-g3147

I used the Mr Gasket equivalent of this before the they painted it green and charged more for it.

Note: The gas and diesel versions use to be the same pump when sold by Mr. Gasket years ago. There are many versions of this pump on the open market and you can select similar based on your preference.

Got this pump. RC601-51350 From amazon for $13.00
Came off the battery tap on the alternator put an inline fuse to a relay. Then tapped the fuel solenoid wire to turn on the relay and power the pump. It took just a bit to get the air out but it did fire an ran a bit ragged then smoothed out. We will see in the morning how hard it will be to start.

If it was 36 deg. in your shop, you must have had the heat on!!

If you can recall what you did 5.5 years ago, it will be appreciated. Guess we got lucky with our 2009 rtv 1100. It ran 600 hours and recently the original pump failed. I'm looking into bypassing it with an electric pump from Summit Racing that has specs close to the one that you posted a link to, and I have a couple of questions: (1) do you recall where you mounted it? There is limited space and even if I found a location it will be next to impossible to drill holes for the mounting bracked. (2) my electric wiring skills are limited so if you can advise on how to install a fuse and relay, it would be helpful!
