I’ve seen conflicting amounts for transmission oil after draining. I already swapped out both filters. My manual says 1.8 but I’ve also seen 2.8. Should I just start with 1.8 and check the stick?

First:
The hydraulic oil that flows through the filters and the HST is from the hydraulic oil tank on the RH side of the machine. The fill port and dipstick are under the passenger seat. The tank capacity is around 5 gallons, which is drained from the bottom of the tank.

The oil you are talking about is from the transaxle; it has no filter and is drained from the bottom of the trans axle case. It holds about 7 qts or so. It has a dipstick at the top of the trans-axle case.

Both reservoirs use SUDT 2 hydraulic oil.
